Ben and Mo Coker
Now retired from the 'workplace', having achieved financial freedom, Ben & Mo are authorised distributors in a networking business with the status of Independent Group Directors.
They have a married daughter (and grandson, age 15) and a married son (and grandsons, age 18 & 21).
Ben's interests include reading, scuba-diving, travel, watching F1 & cricket.
Mo likes travelling, gardening, computer games and home improvements.
They both share an interest in time spent with family & friends and support their local church.
Ben - Teacher, Business, MBA Tutor and Entrepreneur
Ben Coker graduated from Liverpool University in 1970 and started his own business as a printer/publisher (Liverpool). After a re-training course in 1983 he worked for United Biscuits (Liverpool) as a Systems Engineer and later for ICL (Manchester) as a Programme Manager. During this period, the company supported his distance learning MBA and he graduated in 1992 (University of Warwick). He left ICL (now part of Fujitsu) in 1992 to start his own business consultancy working in the Rail industry as an Information Systems Consultant. In 1989 Ben was also invited to tutor on the distance learning courses for Warwick Business School.
Ben started his networking business alongside his main career which regularly took him away from home. The four figure monthly income they now receive from their home-based business has enabled him to retire the career and enjoy greater freedom of choices for all the family.
Mo - Banking, Computing and Family
Mo left secondary education in 1963 with GCE 'O' levels. She worked as a bank clerk & cashier with Lloyds Bank until 1968 when she left to become a full-time mum. From 1980 she returned to accounts/computer-based work with Barclays Bank and NNC Ltd and started Open University studies towards a Maths, Computing & IT degree. She moved to ICL (Manchester) in 1988 where she progressed from Project Planner to Senior IT Support Engineer, leaving in 1998 to help with child-care (grandson) and support her aging parents.
Although Ben is the main active partner of their home-based networking business, Mo supports him and enjoys spending the rewards it brings.
